We're a Member of 1% for the Planet

We believe that small changes and consistent, daily actions can have a huge impact on the global movement to help our planet. We also believe that organizations committed to this cause need support.

In 2015, we made our annual environmental giving more concrete and transparent by becoming a member of 1% for the Planet, and pledging to donate 1% of our annual sales to non-profit organization that benefit the environment. We took a break a few years later, and then restarted our membership in 2020. 1% for the Planet is a growing network of more than 3,000 environmentally conscious members and brands representing industries and causes that share the same common belief: environmental protection and good corporate citizenship are core business principles and our joint responsibility.

We supported these non-profit partners in 2021:

Turning Green
Turning Green educates and motivates students through two groundbreaking programs. Project Green Challenge provides leadership skills with a sustainability focus for over 150,000 students annually across the globe. Conscious Kitchen provides all-organic meals to elementary schools and food assistance to vulnerable populations in the San Francisco Bay Area. Both programs have had unprecedented participation and success, and U-Konserve is honored to support them through funding, donations and volunteering.

The Surfrider Foundation
Dedicated to eliminating plastic pollution, advocating for clean water and mitigating climate change. Surfrider's Ocean Friendly Restaurants program tackles plastic pollution at its source. One restaurant, one customer at a time.

5 Gyres
Works to restore healthy, plastic-free oceans by organizing scientific research expeditions and engaging communities to promote solutions to the plastic pollution problem. They have dedicated the next ten years to leading the movement to a sustainable future based on a zero-waste culture and circular economies.

Sparks real-world, practical solutions to the plastic pollution crisis, working “upstream” to redesign the systems generating all the waste in the first place. They're building a movement to "make throw-away go away" through business, policy and cultural innovation.
