This bold Buffalo Chickpea Mash is a delicious and easy way to add some flavorful protein to your meals. The buffalo sauce combined with creamy chickpeas creates a spicy and savory mash that is perfect for wraps, sandwiches, and salads or as a dip for veggies and chips, cold or hot!

This recipe is also very simple, it comes together in a few minutes with just a couple of ingredients. The dish is easy to customize to your liking by adjusting the amount of buffalo sauce to suit your desired level of spiciness. You can also easily adjust this recipe to make it vegan-friendly.


  • 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 3-4 tablespoons buffalo sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ranch
  • 1 tablespoon plain greek yogurt 
  • 1 chopped green onion
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Tortillas
  • Mozzarella cheese to top

Optional: Add chopped celery or lettuce for an extra crunch.

Vegan friendly: Use vegan ranch, exclude cheese and greek yogurt.


  1. In a medium-sized bowl, mash the chickpeas using a fork or potato masher.
  2. Add the buffalo sauce, ranch, greek yogurt, garlic powder, salt, and pepper and stir well. Add the green onion and stir again.
  3. For the wraps: Grab a tortilla and spread the mash inside. Add your choice of toppings like mozzarella, extra sauce, and lettuce. Dip in ranch or buffalo sauce!
  4. You can also serve this mash as a dip or on a sandwich, warm or cold. Get creative and enjoy!
